01 · Early booking
The real benefit of booking early is not a discount. It is getting the camp you actually wanted, in the sector the animals will be in.
The camps that matter most — small seasonal camps at Ndutu in February, or at Kogatende in August — have very few tents. They sell out roughly a year ahead, and no amount of budget conjures a tent that is already taken.
Some camps do publish early-booking rates for confirmed bookings made a set period ahead. What we can pass on, and the deadlines that apply, is To confirm — it is set by each property and changes yearly.
02 · Why it matters
What booking early actually secures
The right camp in the right sector
A February trip to the southern plains needs a Ndutu camp. Booking late means a central Serengeti camp and a long drive each morning.
Your guide
Good guides are booked out in high season the same way camps are.
Flight seats on light aircraft
Internal seats are limited and sell alongside the beds.
Time to plan properly
Vaccinations, visas, insurance and fitness for a climb all want more than a month.
