Guiding is a career in Tanzania, not a summer job, and we hire on that basis.
The roles in a safari company divide into guiding, camp and workshop, and office. All of them are skilled and most of them are seasonal in demand but year-round in employment if the company is run properly.

02 · The roles
What we hire for
Safari guides
Formal guiding qualification, a clean licence, languages, and the temperament to spend a week with the same six people. Wildlife knowledge is the entry requirement, not the differentiator.
Mountain crew
Kilimanjaro guides, assistant guides, cooks and porters. Load limits and pay rates are regulated and we work to them.
Camp and kitchen
Camp managers, chefs, waiters and housekeeping, often on a rotation.
Workshop and logistics
Mechanics who can keep a Land Cruiser alive a long way from a parts shop are among the most valuable people in the company.
Office and planning
Itinerary planning, reservations and accounts. Written English and the patience to answer the same question kindly for the tenth time.
