Offers & Seasons

Last Minute Availability

Short-notice space, when it exists — and it does not always.

Herd of zebra in the Serengeti

01 · Short notice

Late availability is real, but it is a matter of what happens to be free rather than a discount you can plan around.

Cancellations release beds, and camps would rather fill a tent at a reduced rate than leave it empty. In green season there is usually something. In August in the northern Serengeti, frequently there is nothing at any price.

If your dates are fixed and close, tell us the dates and the budget and we will tell you honestly what is actually available — including when the answer is that a different park would give you a much better trip for the same money.

02 · What works late

Where short notice is realistic

01

Green season, almost anywhere

November, and March to May. Space exists and rates are soft.

02

The southern and western parks

Ruaha, Nyerere, Katavi. Fewer visitors, so more late space — though flights need seats.

03

Camping and mid-range

More beds, more flexibility, and the parks are identical.

04

Not the northern Serengeti in August

This is the one combination where late almost always means no.

03 · Practical

Booking at short notice

We have put trips together in under two weeks. Visas and vaccinations are usually the binding constraint, not beds.
Sometimes on accommodation. Never on park fees, and flights get more expensive close in, not less.
Exact dates, party size, budget, and how much you mind which park you end up in.
Short-notice bookings are normally payable in full. Terms are To confirm.
