A Tanzanian tour operator needs a TALA licence to operate legally. Membership of TATO, the Tanzania Association of Tour Operators, is voluntary and is a further signal. Company registration is through BRELA.

How to check an operator
A TALA licence number and a company registration. Both can be checked with the issuing bodies.
No. It means the operator met an entry requirement and can be complained to. That is still worth something.
Many safari “awards” are paid listings. Ask who gave it and what the criteria were. We will not display any award that works that way.
